NW nominated for Tech & Engineering Emmy, following IBC Award Win

Neutral Wireless alongside the BBC, LiveU, and the University of Strathclyde are amongst the inaugural nominees of the Excellence in Production Technology award.

Neutral Wireless alongside the BBC, LiveU and the University of Strathclyde are amongst the inaugural nominees of a new Technology and Engineering Emmy Award, in the Excellence in Production Technology category.

This nomination serves to recognise our collective efforts in providing a large-scale temporary Private 5G network to guarantee uncontested connectivity for 20 of the world’s leading broadcasters on the day of the Coronation of H.M. King Charles III.

Neutral Wireless’ efforts in facilitating around 60 live wireless camera feeds for the Coronation have been widely recognised across the broadcast industry, with the project having received IBC, NAB, IABM BAM, and EBU awards to date. The Neutral Wireless team is continually grateful for this recognition, which is shared with our technological partners including the BBC R&D team, StrathSDR, LiveU, Sony, and Haivision.

Other nominees include NBC & Done + Dusted, and Disney+ and Industrial Light & Magic.

Neutral Wireless win fourth IBC Award for Paris 2024 Contributions

Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) and partners — including Neutral Wireless, Haivision, AMP VISUAL TV, Cisco, Intel Corporation, Orange, and Samsung Networks — were last month awarded the 2024 IBC Innovation Award for Content Creation.

This award recognises our collaborative efforts in utilising Private 5G enabled smartphone contributions for live broadcast production, with more than 200 Samsung S24 Ultras contributing video for the Paris 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony and for sailing competitions in Marseille.

The Neutral Wireless team would like to acknowledge the massive role that the IBC Accelerator program played in this achievement. The Accelerator was instrumental in bringing together some of the most creative and forward-thinking teams in the world, and enabling a positive and collaborative environment in which the technologies of the future can be refined, nurtured, and brought into the present.

Our team extends a heartfelt thank you to all involved in this project (and all that came before it), and we can’t wait to see what’s still to come.
