Neutral Wireless yesterday attended the International Broadcast Conference’s (IBC) 2022 Accelerator Kickstart event, and demonstrated our private network for broadcast capabilities with our partners the BBC, BT Sport, the Olympic Broadcasting Services, and Denmark’s TV 2.
How did we manage to transport an entire network from Scotland to London, you might ask? Well… we took the train!
For a brief moment, Dumfries railway station had its very own private network. Neutral Wireless were preparing to demo our n77 5G SA network — with 100 MHz bandwidth, 4×4 MIMO, an AMD/Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC remote radio head, and an AMD Ryzen 5900X baseband unit. But luckily for us, all of that fits in the luggage rack.
Following a fascinating presentation from BBC’s Ian Wagdin on live 5G workflows such as Starlink’s LEO satellites, multi access edge compute, and multiple cloud deployments, it was time for us to go live. Only just a few yards from the scene of John Logie Baird’s 1927 Glasgow to London broadcast!
Neutral Wireless’s Bob Stewart was later approached for a short interview, which can be watched below:
